Map your market’s visual landscape in minutes.

Enter your market, or the competitors you already know. DesignMD finds the brands your customers see first, captures each homepage and compares their colors, type and positioning side by side. Then it shows you where the gaps are and recommends a direction that sets your brand apart.

What you get

Everything a single run returns.

Side-by-side captures

Homepage captures of each competitor with their extracted palette, fonts and color scheme.

A market hue map

Where competitor brand colors cluster on the color wheel, and which hues nobody owns.

Conventions and open space

The patterns most competitors share, and the openings for a distinct position.

A recommended direction

A differentiated palette with contrast checks, a typography pairing, principles and what to avoid.

How it works

Three steps from input to result.

Typical run time: 1–3 minutes.

  1. Choose the field

Search a market keyword, or paste the competitors you want to compare.

  2. Capture every site

We find the leading brands in your market and capture each homepage, along with its colors and fonts.

  3. Compare and position

See how every brand presents itself, what they all have in common, and where yours can stand out.

Who it’s for

Made for real design work.

  • Kick off a brand strategy. Bring evidence to positioning workshops instead of a hand-collected moodboard.
  • Prepare a pitch. Show a prospect exactly how their category looks, and how they could look different.
  • Sanity-check a redesign. See whether a new direction blends in or stands out before you commit to it.

Good to know

What you provide, and the limits.

  • A market keyword, such as “invoicing software for freelancers”, or 2–5 competitor URLs.
  • Optionally, your own site to include in the comparison.
  • The country whose market you want to explore.
  • Discovery focuses on the top-ranking brands for your keyword and skips publishers, marketplaces and forums. Give the selected sites a quick review.
  • Each brand is analyzed from its homepage, focusing on the first screen visitors see.
  • Recommendations are strategic starting points, not a finished brand identity.

Questions

About Competitor Design Analysis.

How are competitors found?

Enter your market and DesignMD finds the brands that show up first when your customers search. It keeps real product and brand sites, and skips review sites, listicles, marketplaces and forums.

Can I choose the competitors myself?

Yes. Paste 2–5 URLs to skip discovery, and add your own site to see how it compares.

What is the hue map?

A color wheel of your market. Each competitor’s main and accent colors are plotted by hue, so you can see at a glance which colors are crowded and which are wide open for your brand.

Why does it cost more than the other tools?

Each scan researches your market, captures several competitor sites and compares them all in one report, so it does far more work than a single-page tool. Credits are only spent when the report is complete.

Is analyzing competitor sites allowed?

The scan reads public pages much as a visitor would and extracts design attributes rather than copying content. Respect each site’s terms and use the result for analysis, not imitation.
