Good to know

What you provide, and the limits.

A PNG, JPEG or WebP screenshot. Large images are resized in your browser before upload.
An optional name and context, such as “fintech dashboard, dark mode”.
Light, dark or automatic color mode.
Font families are identified visually and labelled as inferences. Confirm licenses before you use a font.
A single screenshot cannot show every state, breakpoint or interaction; those are marked as recommendations.
Use images you have the right to analyze. The result is an independent reference, not an official brand guide.

About Screenshot to Design System.

How accurate are the colors?

They come straight from the image, not from a guess. DesignMD finds the colors that actually appear in your screenshot, shows how much of the screen each one covers, and builds roles such as brand, surface and text from that real palette.

Can it read fonts from a screenshot?

It suggests the closest font family and a sensible fallback stack based on the letterforms, and labels the choice as inferred. Sizes and weights are estimated from the visual hierarchy.

What happens if a run fails?

Credits are held when a run starts and are only spent when a validated design is saved. If anything fails, the held credits go straight back to your balance.

Is my screenshot stored?

No. The image is processed in memory and discarded. Only the generated design, its measured palette and basic file details (name, size and dimensions) are saved to your private workspace.

How is this different from the URL generator?

The URL generator reads a live public page. Screenshot to Design System works from any image, including unreleased mockups, native apps and screens behind a login.
